Colour daily inspires my moods, watching the sun rise and set and the way the landscape changes in the different light, enjoying the many shades of green in my garden and trying to capture the beauty of places I have been in paintings.
Colours can affect my emotions, and emotions can affect the colours I use in painting. I love the colour of my car, so it’s always a pleasure to go for a drive! Painting when I’m in a great mood always seems to result in happy bright colours, perhaps reflecting how I’m feeling.
Deeply and richly coloured walls (at home)give me a feeling of warmth and happiness. The walls give wonderful contrasts to colours and textures of furnishings, decor and garden views through the window. A white walled house to me is cold and unfriendly.
